Choosing a mezuzah starts with one simple question: which size is right for me? The size is set by the length of the scroll that goes inside the case. Here is everything you need to know, simply.
The rule that matters: the size is set by the length of your scroll.
In other words, if you have a 12 cm scroll, choose size 12. That way the scroll fits comfortably, without creasing and without being loose.

How many mezuzahs does a home need?
A rule of thumb: one mezuzah for every room with a doorway and a doorpost, apart from the toilet and the bathroom. In practice:
- A 3 room flat: usually 4 to 5 mezuzahs.
- A 4 to 5 room flat: usually 6 to 8 mezuzahs.
- The entrance, living room, kitchen, bedrooms, safe room and balcony all get one.
Tip: choose size 15 for the main entrance and size 12 for the other rooms, for a graded and consistent look.
